Carla Klosowski

Professional Artist and Photographer

I have been an artist all of my life. I began drawing as a child, as soon as I realized what a pencil and paper was for and all the glorious colors of the paints and crayons! I started creating my own stories with art. My late father was a photographer and at 5 years old I was in the darkroom with him watching him work his magic with the images and I became hooked on photography as well. I love Black and White Fine Art Photography most of all! I learned some metalworking skills from my father who was an excellent machinist and metalworker as well. I guess I got his genes!

I hold a BA in Studio Arts with a minor in education from the University of West Florida, Pensacola, FL, an MA in Arts and Business Administration from Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, GA. I graduated Cum Laude, made the Dean’s List and the President’s Honor Roll.

I went on to study for my Doctoral in Education and I completed all of my required studies at St. Thomas University in Miami, FL for the Doctoral, with a 3.95 GPA, but was unable to complete my Dissertation work, due to family duties.

I am a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) and a Certified Grumbacher Fine Arts Instructor. I am qualified to teach art to Kindergarten through 12th grade, in the state of Florida. I am also available to teach art to anyone who is homeschooling their children and they would like to add art to the home school educational curriculum. I also teach adults art techniques and skills if they are so inclined. I don’t mind coming to your home and teaching a class one on one or with you and your children if you are a homeschooling parent.

My artwork has been commissioned worldwide. I have a strong background in art history, salvaged art and antiquities and maritime law, as well as archaeological interests. I work in multimedia in the studio. My skills range from oils, watercolors, pen and ink, graphite, lithography, sculpture, and acrylics, to pyrography, metalworking, jewelry making, gourd art as well as textile arts.

I have formal training and work experience as a Commercial Photographer. I am what they say in today’s photography world, an analog photographer. I am old school in my work with film and processes, although I have extensive knowledge of digital as well.
